1. How to set up the Smart Garden 3, Smart Garden 9?

Smart Garden 3 setup guide

1. Open your Smart Garden 3 box.

2. Put the domes aside, and take out the cavities, removing the U-shaped lids.

3. Insert the plant pods into the cavities and put the U-shaped lids back on, then click the cavities into the Smart Garden.

4. Put the transparent germination domes on each capsule. The dome should stay on until sprouts are visible, after that you can remove it. Make sure you hang on to the cavities and domes for future use!

5. Fill the water tank with about 1.3 L/44 oz of water. Make sure the water level indicator doesn’t rise above the surface of the lid to avoid over-watering.

6. Plug in the garden and you are good to go!

 

The Smart Garden 3 measurements are:

11.8in x 4,7in x 13.4in / 30cm x 12cm x 34cm. (length, width, height, with one extension)
Without the extensions it’s about 21cm/8,3in ; with two extensions 47cm/18.5in.

Smart Garden 9 setup guide

1. Open your Smart Garden 9 box.

2. Assemble the lamp with one level of extensions – make sure the extension with the groove goes to the same side as the groove on the water tank.

3. Put the domes aside, and take out the cavities, removing the U-shaped lids.

4. Insert the plant pods into the cavities and put the U-shaped lids back on, then click the cavities into the Smart Garden.

5. Put the transparent germination domes on each capsule. The dome should stay on until sprouts are visible, after that you can remove it. Make sure you hang on to the cavities and domes for future use!

6. Fill the water tank with about 4 L/135 oz of water. Make sure the water level indicator doesn’t rise above the surface of the lid to avoid over-watering.

7. Plug in the garden and you are good to go!

 

The Smart Garden 9 dimensions are:
23.6in x 7.5in x 15.8in / 60cm x 19cm x 40cm. (length, width, height, with one extension)
Without the extensions it’s about 20cm/7.9in ; with two extensions 59cm/23.2in.

3. How do I use my plant pods?

Currently, we are in the process of transitioning to a new, more sustainable plant pods concept for our indoor gardens and farms that would create less plastic waste and be more environmentally-friendly. Therefore, you might receive different-looking plant pods for different plants or orders, but don’t worry – they are all compatible with all our products.

5.  When and how to add water?

You can use the water float indicator to monitor the overall water level. When that hits the bottom and you can’t bob it up-and-down with your finger then it’s time to refill the tank. The water tank lasts for about 2-3 weeks, depending on the plants but you can definitely fill up the tank sooner if necessary.

6. What is the voltage or wattage of our products?

Our products work within a range of 100-240V.

The Smart Garden 3 uses 6W, whereas the Smart Garden 9 uses 12W.

7.  How to adjust the light timer?

The light timer starts every time you plug the lamp in. It works for 16 hours straight and then turns off for 8 hours.

 

8. What is the shelf life of the plant pods?

All of our plant pods have a shelf life of 2 years in dark, cool and dry conditions.

 

9. How long do plants take to sprout?

Most plants sprout within 1-2 weeks, with some fruiting plants taking up to 3 weeks in some cases.

If your plants have not sprouted within 3 weeks then definitely contact our support who will help you out with any problems.

10. What is the life cycle of plants in the Smart Garden?

Different plants have different life cycles. Most plants in the Smart Garden grow for 2-3 months, chili peppers and some blooming plants up to 6 months. The lifetime of a plant also depends on the light available, your room temperature and the way you look after the plant. For example, if you cut off all leaves off an edible herb at once, the plant may die. Also, plants started in winter months may take longer to grow.

11. How to cut your plants?

If your herbs are growing bigger you might want to use some parts of them or cut them back to ensure a “bushier” growth.

12. Why is there no fruit on my plant?

Lack of pollination usually results in few or no fruits. To help blossoms pollinate, gently shake your plant or use a paint brush to move pollen from one blossom to the next.

13. How to get rid of mold?

Two main reasons that can cause mold are overwatering and too much warmth. So it’s very important that when you add water, the float shouldn’t rise above the surface of the lid. We would recommend that the float should stay in the middle of the tank. If your plant pods still seem too wet (which cause moss and mold), just click the pods out of the garden for 1-2 days to let them dry. Also, make sure that the temperature inside your home is okay for the plants. The best average temperature to grow your plants is 18 to 24C (64 to 75F).

You can also try to scrape off the mold but gently as to not damage the plants or seeds. The plants (seeds) will still be okay to grow and use after the mold has been removed.

14. How to clean and maintain your product?

We recommend cleaning the product before inserting a new pod. Just pour out the water from the unit and rinse the water reservoir carefully with warm water.
